Mark your calendar so you don’t miss Minnesota’s Irish Fair held Friday, August 7 – Sunday, August 9, 2015 on Harriet Island. This is the largest FREE Irish Fair in America and it is two and a half days of music, dancing, Gaelic Games, Sheep Herding demonstrations, storytelling, and a cultural and literary area. There are also children’s activities. This year the music line-up is terrific with nine performing groups/performers. And just in case you’re interested… the food is great. I found it a little on the expensive side, but everything else is totally free so if you take that into consideration it’s really inexpensive.
My favorite performer is Celtic singer Katie McMahon. We all know her as the the soprano soloist of the original Riverdance. Katie was with Riverdance for five years and she is amazing. Check out the performers: MUSICAL PERFORMERS
Parking is not good at Harriet Island and you do have an alternative this year. There is a free shuttle service between Harriet Island and Union Depot. You can either drive to Union Depot, take a bus or take the Green Line to Union Depot where you pick up the shuttle.

This is really a Five Star event that you won’t want to miss.
