LANDSCAPE ARTIST CHARLOTTE SCHULD CAPTURES THE BEAUTY OF MINNESOTA AND THE WORLD

It is said that the Arts are what make us human. The artists express their feelings through their paintings. The observer is stimulated by what they see and this conjures up emotions within them. When studying a beautiful painting, there are no rights, no wrongs, just feelings – your feelings, which no one can dispute.

Charlotte Schuld is one of those very creative and talented artists who inspire us, entertain us and make us “feel”. Her landscape paintings take us places that we’ve only dreamed about and her work inspires us to broaden our horizons and visit these places. Charlotte believes that North Dakota, where she grew up and Minnesota, where she lives, instilled in her an appreciation for landscapes. She said her work “has evolved into a constant notice and appreciation of landlines, textures, and the natural patterns and colors of earth, water and sky.” and she shares the beauty of our world with us through her paintings.

Not only does Charlotte inspire us to go places we’ve never been mentally or physically, but for many years that she taught art and music to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade  She inspired them to use their imagination in creative ways. Art has been recognized as very important in a child’s development. Studies have repeatedly shown that it helps in the child’s growth of fine motor skills, decision making, language development, visual learning, creative thinking and cultural awareness. There are hundreds of adults who are successful because Charlotte gave them the tools to become the creative thinkers and decision makers they are today She continues to teach art to all of us through her newsletters which can be found on her website.

Charlotte’s newsletters are not only very informative but they are so well   written that even this non-artistic person understands them. In her Newsletter Volume 13 she gives instructions for making a brush for a particular effect she wanted. I do a bit of furniture refinishing and that gave me an idea for a brush that would work well for me. I’ll be making my own brush now. Thank you Charlotte!

Be sure to check out her newsletters. They really are wonderful.

In addition to her newsletters you will see more of her amazing paintings and you will learn more about Charlotte, her career and those things that inspire her.

  1. Thank you, Heidi, for your kind article about my art works and your verbal support for the arts. When I taught at my last school (Crosswinds Arts & Science) as an IB school we were very aware of the profound thought processes we go through when we are involved in a creative work. The whole brain is definitely needed and used for a successful product!
