SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BEACHES – CORONADO BEACH

One would certainly be remiss if they didn’t cross the Coronado Bridge to visit Hotel del Coronado.  I believe it’s the most photographed resort hotel in the world…. but I could be wrong.  Regardless, none of the pictures can begin to show the enormity of the resort.  At an average $610/night I will never lay my head on one of their pillows, but were I to check in for a night or two I still probably wouldn’t ever lay my head on one of their pillows because I would undoubtedly not be able to find my room.  It is HUGE.

The Coronado Bridge which opened in August of 1969 is amazing, and the view as you drive over the bridge is stunning.

  1. I love Coronado Beach and hotel. Me and a friend walked all over the property, beautiful and there was a wedding in the center courtyard when we were there. It was very cool. Glad you are having such a great time, miss you here. When you get back we need to go to dinner…..

    • It is beautiful. The history of the hotel is interesting too. And the bridge is amazing, but I kind of miss the old ferry. You can take a ferry across now, but no cars! Next week we’re headed for Desert Hot Springs for a few days so that will be another adventure. Stay warm.

    • How cool! I had hoped it would inspire people to “travel” in the USA. It seems like everybody I know is planning a cruise or a trip to another country.
